Mr. Lance Happypants and the mylar review

Today is my birthday. I was born at 7:10 pm. Today I picked up Mr. Buddy at the airport, took a wee nappy, did some laundry, had a smoothie, had a nice brunch, saw a movie and watched B5 and Dr. Who. All in all a great birthday.

Things I learned about today:

  • May 18th is the 139th day of the year, this year
  • In honor of my first birthday Mount St. Helen’s erupted
  • May 18th is International Museum Day
  • The Donnie Darko sequel begins shooting today

At my party many guests took advantage of the casual dress policy.

I reject your reality and substitute my own

Today I worked, got the compilation of the first five issue of Amory Wars, watched some B5 and ate some falafel.

Today I learned:

  • Mira Furlan who plays ambassador Delenn on B5 is also on Lost
  • The most popular explanation for motion sickness is a defense mechanism against neurotoxins, your body believes it has ingested a poison and will induce vomiting to combat the substance. This belief comes from the discrepancy of sight vs. motion detection. The fluid in your ears say you are moving but your eyes do not agree.
  • Angela Lansbury had knee replacement surgery on July 14, 2005

Thelma Vette - 100 years young, attempts escape a day after her knee surgery. Not to be deterred by her captors she chided, “These shoes are made for walking, they’re orthopedic.”

I never liked your pie…awkward last words

Today I worked.

Today I learned:

  • Persona non Grata literally means “an unwelcome person” and it is valid to say Persona Grata (people will not laugh at your pigeon Latin and throw sweaty togas and apothecary bottles at you)
  • There are grizzly polar bear hybrids called pizzlies or grolar bears

I yearn for bionic dog eyes

The past few days have been hard. Muffin was diagnosed with SARDS, sudden permenent blindness. She is handling it like a champ, I’m dealing with it. They lost my mothers luggage again, after finding it, they decided the best thing to do was to send it back to Mexico.

Things I learned today-ish:

  • SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) is permanent and total destruction of photo receptor cells resulting in permanent blindness. It is a type of retinal degeneration.
  • In 6% of cases, Leber’s congenital amaurosis is caused by mutations in RPE65
  • For $1.00 David Horvitz will think about you for 1 minute
  • Minute is hard to spell
  • Elderly people enjoy making tiny hats

I bet beastmaster could control a giant badger

Today I woke up, powered on hard, went to get my retina’s probed, went to work, exercised, went back to work, dropped Mr. Buddy off, went back to work, drove home, planted some new flowers, went to a wedding rehearsal dinner, came home and worked on my master plan. I drank blue Gatorade.

Today I learned:

  • The game clue was invented in England and is actually called cluedo.
  • You can make a meat cake using meatloaf and mashed potatoes.
  • Cutting the flower stem off a tulip after it fades makes a bigger, better, more powerful tulip next year.
  • The elderly enjoy reading about exotic destinations such as Canada

Ohio is for Lovers, Kansas is for Chicken

Today I got up went to work, went to mentor, went back to work, went back to lunch, went home to take care of spaniels, went to workout, went home, mowed the lawn, gave the dog a bath, did laundry, and watched B5. I also ate.

Today I learned:

  • Holding down F9 while booting an eee pc will allow you to reset to the default image
  • In Danish they distinguish between grandparental linage by using a prefix: i.e. morfar (maternal grandfather), farfar (paternal grandfather), mormor(maternal grandmother), and farmor (paternal grandmother)

today I awoke, took tea with my madre, had lunch at work, dropped my kin off at rdu, returned home to watch the detective stylings of one Mr. Tom Barnaby, then worked out, went to ballet and concluded with a classical episode of B5.

Today I learned:

  • The word mere can be used to refer to a small pond or marsh
  • A swollen optic nerve can be a sign of a brain tumor
  • The normal carrying angle for women is between 10-25°, in men it is between 5-10°

“Only time will tell, if we stand the test of time…” thought provoking lyrics from Van Halen

today I got up, went to the um to extract my family, then back home to get Mr. Buddy, over to brunch, back to the um to check out, stumbled to the bakery, returned immediately to base, jettisoned to whole foods and then watched B5.

Today I learned:

  • sodium lauryl sulphate can cause canker sores
  • The direct number for the delta baggage counter at the Rochester international airport (ROC) is 585-235-1288

If anyone happens upon a black suitcase with 40 sprinkle cookies inside, please contact me immediately.

Nettles is a family man, just ask henriette

Today I got up, went to the Um had breakfast with people who’s dna closely resembles my own, went to the pool, went to the spa, back to the pool, had lunch, back to the spa, home to check in on the kids, back to the um, watched a wedding while out on the balcony dressed in my ballet shoes and tutu, went out to dinner, and now I am watching my mom play guitar hero 3 on the wii. Maybe if I ask nicely she’ll let me play Disney Princesses

Today I learned:

  • There is no planet orientare, the three kings were from earth
  • The Happy Birthday song they used to play on USA cartoon express is an actual song entitled “Happy Birthday” by Altered Images

Mr. Comfyundie

today I went to work, ate lunch at pizza hut (points to anyone who can tell me what typeface they have on their “please wait to be seated” signs), came home, cleaned, and had a fun game night.

Things I learned today:

  • The difference between aspergers and ass-burgers is an unvoiced P.
  • The name of the twist driven petal free bike,a toy popularized in the 80’s was a Roller Racer

Mr. Comfyundie wants you to ride one

I think this may become my preferred method of transportation
